Chhatra League to form committees at high schools

Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), the student wing of ruling Awami League, has decided to form committees at high schools across the country as part of its greater goal to spread the ideology of the Father of Nation. Chhatra League central committee made the decision at a meeting held at its office in Dhaka’s Gulistan on Tuesday. In the meeting, Chhatra League President Saifur Rahman Shohag and General Secretary SM Jakir Hossain ordered organisation leaders to form its school-level committees to spread the ideology of Bangabandhu among schoolgoers to fight militancy in the country. Joynal Abedin, Chhatra League’s school affairs secretary, told the Dhaka Tribune: “Islami Chhatra Shibir has been trying to spread militancy among school students for years. In a bid to counter them, Chhatra League will form school level committee at every school in the country.” Talking to the Dhaka Tribune, Chhatra League’s Joint General Secretary Saem Khan said: “We have just taken the decision. Now we will try to implement the decision as soon as possible.”
