
A delegation of Bobby Hajjaj’s Nationalist Democratic Movement (NDM) has met Election Commission officials, apprising the commission of their demands for ensuring a level playing field and deployment of troops in the DNCC by-election.
The delegation, comprised of NDM Secretary General Abdullah Mohammad Taher, mayoral candidate Shafin Ahmed, Election Coordinator Mominul Amin, organizing secretaries Lion Nuruzzaman Hira and Howlader Abul Hossain, and Executive Member Al-Amin Zu Rahman, met the officials at the Election Commission office in Dhaka on Wednesday.

Shafin, also the lead singer of the band Miles, told the Dhaka Tribune that they had a “very fruitful” meeting with Election Commission Joint Secretary Mohammad Abul Kashem, who will act as returning officer during the DNCC by-polls slated for February 26.
Their other demands include bringing errant candidates to book and forming a team to oversee law and order situations and check the illicit flow of weapons during the by-polls.
