Obaidul: Not looking at foreign advice for polls-time guidance

Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader has said Awami League is not paying heed to foreign advice regarding the upcoming national polls. He made the statement while talking to the media at the New Market area in Dhaka on Saturday morning. The Awami League general secretary distributed leaflets promoting his party's public rally scheduled for March 7. He said: “We are going to hold an inclusive, free and fair polls. We are not looking at anyone for advice or charity. We are going to follow the constitution. "External pressure will not make a difference here.” Regarding the accusations of that Sheikh Hasina is using government funds to ask for votes, he said: “The prime minister is not only the leader of the nation but also the leader of Awami League. She has the right to ask for votes. There are no discrepancies here.” Obaidul said: “The schedule for the elections has not been released yet and such accusation can be brought only when the scheduled is released.
