Top leaders of the BNP-led 20-party alliance held a meeting Saturday evening to discuss the country's latest political situation and work out its next course of action.
The meeting began at BNP chairperson's Gulshan office in Dhaka at 7pm, said BNP’s media wing staff Sairul Kabir Khan.
Preferring to be anonymous, a senior leader of the alliance said: “At the meeting, we discussed the country's overall situation, organizational issues and upcoming city polls."
It was the second meeting of the alliance since BNP chief Khaleda Zia was put in jail after being convicted in the Zia Orphanage Trust graft case.
Three days after she landed in jail on February 8, top leaders of the combine held a meeting, where they expressed solidarity with BNP's protest programs for an unconditional release of its chairperson.
