Jatiya Party (JaPa) Chairman HM Ershad went to New Delhi on Sunday on a four-day visit at the invitation of the Indian government.
Accompanied by senior party leaders including JaPa Secretary General Ruhul Amin Hawlader, Ershad left Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport for New Delhi by a Jet Airways flight around 10am, UNB reported citing a press release issued by the party.
He is scheduled to return to Dhaka on Wednesday.

Party insiders said Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Harsh Vardhan Shringla recently met with Ershad at his residence and handed him a letter of invitation from the Indian government.
They said Ershad was expected to hold meetings with top Indian government officials and BJP leaders during the visit, and discuss various issues related to the mutual interests of the two neighbouring countries and Bangladesh's next general election.
