Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s ICT Affairs Adviser Sajeeb Wazed Joy has labeled BNP as a terrorist organization.
He made the comment through a Facebook post on his public page around 8pm Wednesday.
The comment came in the wake of violent clashes between BNP activists and police in front of the party’s Naya Paltan office earlier in the day.
During the clashes, activists of the party vandalized several vehicles, even setting a police pickup truck and patrol car on fire.
“The election process has barely started and the BNP has already resorted to violence. Just as they burned civilians alive in their arson attacks during 2013 and 2015,” Joy wrote in the post.
Joy also said courts in Canada had already ruled that BNP are terrorists, adding that they should all be sent to prison for their offences.
