He said people will exercise their voting rights despite all impediments
BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has blamed the Awami League for the arrest of its leaders and activists across Bangladesh.
He made this statement while addressing the media at BNP's Naya Paltan headquarters on Saturday.
The BNP leader said: “Right before the 11th parliamentary election, law enforcement agencies are arresting and harassing our leaders and supporters across the nation following the demand of Awami League.
“Our nominated candidates cannot even perform their election campaign properly. We are facing this obstacle in all 300 constituencies.”
The senior BNP leader demanded the immediate release of all arrested BNP leaders and activists.
Rizvi said: “General people will cast their vote on December 30 despite all the obstructions.”
Stating that international organizations have boycotted this election, he also mentioned that no observers would come to Bangladesh for the polls.
Talking about the case filed against Jatiya Oikya Front chief, Rizvi said: “I condemn the case that has been filed against Dr Kamal Hossain.”
A general dairy (GD) was lodged with Islamic University police station in Kushtia on Friday against Dr Kamal Hossain, accusing him of threatening journalists.
