Rizvi to Quader: Join BNP as an adviser

Rizvi claims that ruling party leaders and activists are fearful because of their ‘misdeeds’ during the 11th general polls

Update : 07 Feb 2019, 03:50 PM

BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has invited Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader to join BNP.

He made these remarks while addressing the press at the BNP party’s headquarters, on Thursday, in Dhaka's Naya Paltan.

He said: "The way he [Quader] is talking about our party it seems he wants to join BNP. So, there is no point of him being a part of Awami League anymore. Rather, I urge him to join BNP.

"Our party's door is open for him."

"The Awami League general secretary is always giving BNP advice and suggestions, at different events, about what the party should do and how the party should be run...he is also predicting our party decisions," he added.

Rizvi said the ruling party’s leaders and activists are anxiously spending their days, thinking of the consequences they will have to face for their "misdeeds."

"They are secretly keeping contact with BNP leaders and activists in different areas.

Awami League leaders and activists are worried about their future. So, Obaidul Quader and some other leaders are voluntarily trying to advise BNP," he furthered.

He continued: "As we are not there in parliament, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is spitting venom on the Zia family."

He said: "Sheikh Hasina claims the December 30 general polls were free and fair, but the reality is the opposite.

"She is now making such remarks even after snatching the people's right to freedom of expression."

"Noone, except the prime minister and her party leaders and activists, said the election was free and fair.

"Even, the coalition parties of the Awami League-led Grand Alliance have to admit the corruption and unfairness of the 11th parliamentary election for which the ruling party is responsible," he added.
