GM Quader has failed to run the party, the party chief says
Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad has removed his brother GM Quader from the party co-chairman position.
An order issued on Friday night, signed by Ershad, said that Quader had been removed from organizational duties and the co-chairman position for the interest of the party.
Quader has completely failed to run the party, created division inside the party and JaPa’s organizational activities have slowed down under his leadership, Ershad said.
“The party’s senior leadership have also refused to work under him,” he said.
“However, he will remain a presidium member. Whether he can remain the deputy leader of opposition in parliament will be decided by the JaPa parliamentary party,” he added.
Quader, Ershad’s younger brother, was made party co-chairman in 2016. The ailing JaPa chief, who frequently travels abroad for medical treatment, also announced in January that Quader would be the acting chairman in his absence.
