BNP Standing Committee member Barrister Moudud Ahmed was flown to Singapore Thursday morning for medical treatment.
He was accompanied by his wife Hasna Moudud and several BNP leaders on a 8:25am Biman flight, according to UNB.
The UNB quoted Mominur Rahman, his personal secretary, saying the 78-year-old BNP leader will receive treatment at Mount Elizabeth Hospital for various ailments including cardiac problems.
On May 5, Moudud Ahmed was admitted to Apollo Hospitals in Dhaka after he complained of chest pains at the High Court. The doctors discovered blocks in his heart and advised treatment abroad.
