Jana Aakangkhar Bangladesh has said it wants to build a new party which can fulfill the aspirations of Bangladesh and her people.

Leaders of the recently formed political platform of a group of pro-reformist Jamaat leaders made the comment at a meeting in Dhaka’s Segunbagicha Community Hall on Saturday.

“We want to be those who can take a challenge,” they said.

The leaders also said, there is a negative connotation about politics in the minds of the people of Bangladesh.

“So we are going to be involved in politics. But we want to set a new trend in politics that makes people's ideas about us positive,” they said.

At the meeting, convener of the Zia Parishad, Jahangir Chowdhury, said Bangladesh is one of the largest countries in the world in terms of population.

“In the absence of proper leadership and planning, we are becoming a small and poor country. Those who have ruled us for 48 years have not kept the promises of freedom,” he claimed.

Announcing solidarity with the desire of the people of Bangladesh, he said: “We have to build a nation. Our commitment is to build a beautiful country that we all will build together.”

“All parties have become unsuitable. As a result, we have to talk about new politics. The emergence of new politics is now the only solution,” he said.
