The former president told the political parties spread the rumour to destabilise the country’s patriotism
AQM Badruddoza Chowdhury, former president and president of Bikalpa Dhara Bangladesh (BDB) has said there is political motive behind the rise in crimes and social unrest regarding Padma Bridge rumour.
He made this statement at a program arranged by Bangladesh People’s Party (BPP) on their first founding anniversary, held at the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh, on Saturday.
“The conspirators are spreading rumours with a political motive that human heads are necessary for Padma Bridge’s construction,” he said.
The BDB chief further said: “Political motive is also a reason behind the increase in social unrest and crimes. The political parties involved with it, do it to destabilise the country’s patriotism.”
B Chowdhury urged the government to take necessary steps to ensure people’s safety so that people can stay at home safely and move outside without any fear.
“The politics of peace and happiness must be established in the country,” he said.
The former president alleged that some people are trying to create communal hatred against Bangladesh by bringing false allegations.
“The recent remark in America by the wife of a senior government official [about disappearance of minority people] is indecent and unacceptable,” he concluded.
