Two Juba Dal men sustained injuries
The founding anniversary program of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has been marred by the internecine feud of its youth wing Juba Dal in Chittagong.
The internal strife broke out around 4pm on Sunday during a rally on the premises of BNP’s Chittagong city office Nasiman Bhaban at Kazir Dewri.
Two Juba Dal men sustained injuries in the head when two factions locked into a clash and threw chairs at each other.
The injured were identified as Juba Dal’s city unit Publicity Secretary Zillur Rahman and activist Humayun.
The followers of Juba Dal’s city unit President Mosharraf Hossain and former vice president Shamsul Huq engaged in the clash which continued for around 10 minutes in two phases.
The situation calmed down after the senior leaders intervened.
Abul Hashem Bakkar, BNP’s city unit secretary said that there was problem over chanting slogans which was resolved later.
BNP’s city unit president Dr Shahadat Hossain presided over the rally.
