JU VC: Allegations of giving Tk1.6cr to Chhatra League fabricated
Jahangirnagar University Vice Chancellor professor Farzana Islam on Saturday accused the Chhatra League for cooking up a story over their share from the development projects of the university.
Challenging the Chhatra League over the issue, she said: "Requests will be made to the University Grants Commission and the chancellor of the University for investigation into it further.
“I did not have any conversation with them on share of money. I do not have any idea on where do they receive commissions from,” the VC told reporters at her residence at the university campus on Saturday.
Both, the VC and the central Chhatra League, especially outgoing President Rezwanul Haque Chowdhury Shovon and outgoing General Secretary Golam Rabbani, are in a face-to-face position over corruption allegations.
Earlier, the VC alleged that top two leaders demanded a "4-6%" cut from the Tk1,445cr development project at the university.
