He suggested waiting Khaleda Zia’s doctors’ report before drawing any conclusion
Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader has said the physicians of BNP Chief Khaleda Zia are not saying what the party leaders are saying about her health.
Quader made the statement while talking to reporters at the Secretariat in Dhaka on Thursday.
He suggested waiting Khaleda Zia’s doctors’ report before drawing any conclusion.
Quader, also the Road Transport and Bridges Minister, said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been informed of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s health condition.
“Sheikh Hasina has not given any message in this regard,” he said.
Quader said BNP MP Harunur Rashid met him on Wednesday and informed him about his party chief’s illness.
“He requested me to convey the information to the prime minister and I did,” the minister said.
BNP MP Harun met Khaleda at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) on Tuesday evening and said she needs better treatment immediately at a specialized hospital abroad for the physical problems she is facing now.
He said the former prime minister, who has been in jail since February last year on corruption charges, was willing to go abroad for treatment if she is granted bail.
