Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal has said the investigation agency has already been directed to prepare a flawless charge sheet soon in the murder case of Buet student Abrar Fahad.
“The murder of Abrar was a tragic incident. We are shocked by it. Instructions have already been given to prepare a flawless charge sheet in the killing case soon,” he said while addressing a shadow parliament debate competition at the Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (FDC) in Dhaka on Saturday.
UCB Public Parliament titled “Present government moving forward to establish good governance” was organized by Debate for Democracy, reports UNB.
The minister said the process has already started to ensure fair justice over the killing.
Abrar, a second-year student of electrical and electronic engineering department at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (Buet), was beaten to death reportedly by Chhatra League leaders at its Sher-e-Bangla Hall.
He was found dead on the staircase of the dormitory in the early hours of October 7 after he was beaten for five hours from 8pm on October 6 at room 2011.
The Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police is investigating the murder incident.
About the ongoing drive against corruption and tender manipulation, Kamal said the prime minister is not sparing anyone involved in tender manipulation, corruption, and irregularities.
“We will surely bring the tender manipulators and corrupt elements under control,” he added.
The minister said the prime minister has stressed a number of issues to curb corruption and establish good governance.
“She wants to establish such good governance based on which Bangladesh will go forward,” he said.
The minister also said the drive against corruption, terrorism, and militancy will continue to build a better Bangladesh so that no one dares to engage in misdeeds in the future.
“Wherever there are irregularities, corruption, and lawlessness, the drive will continue there. We are not targeting any specific area or topic,” he said.
