Foreign Minister Dr AKM Abdul Momen has said the government will introduce electronic passport (e-passport) with 10-year validity on December 15.
He made the statement while addressing district and metropolitan Awami League conference on the Sylhet Government Alia Madrasa ground on Thursday.
Momen said the government will issue the e-passport and introduce special courses for the benefit of expatriates to improve their skills, reports BSS.
An app has been launched in the foreign ministry for the benefit of expatriates and through this they can receive thirty-five services, he said.
Highlighting the huge development made by the government in the past ten years, Momen said, there will be no poor people in Bangladesh if the present trend of development continues.
Road Transport and Bridges Minister and Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader spoke on the occasion as the chief guest while Joint General Secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif was the main speaker.
Awami League Presidium Member Nurul Islam Nahid, Joint General Secretary Abdur Rahman and Organizing Secretaries A F M Bahauddin Nasim and Ahmed Hossain, Advocate Misbah Uddin Siraj, Relief and Social Welfare Secretary Sujit Roy Nandi among others, spoke at the conference.
