Three Rohingyas arrested while trying to smuggle weapon

Police recovered a rifle and 24 rounds of ammunition

Police arrested three Rohingya people from Ghumdhum Purbo Baruapara area near Cox’s Bazar border for smuggling a weapon and ammunition on Thursday.

The arrestees are as Md Mir Kashem, 23, Rashid Ullah, 20, and Nur Boshor, 19, all of whom from Kutupalong Rohingya Camp in Ukhiya, confirmed Ghumdhum police outpost in-charge Imon Kanti Chowdhury.

He said: “Acting on a tip-off we arrested the trio. After a primary interrogation they accepted the allegations against them.”

Police recovered a rifle and 24 rounds of ammunition from the spot, added Imon.
