Several arrests to be made soon
Cox's Bazar police on Wednesday said they have uncovered the motive behind Rohingya leader Mohib Ullah’s murder in Ukhia upazila of Cox's Bazar.
Superintendent of police Md Hasanuzzaman said: “After the incident, the district police in the camp, as well as many investigating agencies from Armed Police Battalion’s (APBn) and CID are working together while the district police are investigating the case.
“We have got an idea of the motive behind the murder and know who is directly behind it. We are hopeful of arresting the main culprits very soon,” he added,
Referring to the need for adequate security at the camp, the police chief also said they are conducting extensive interrogations of those already arrested in connection with the killing and taking notes from various sources.
“Everything under investigation cannot be disclosed. But we are hopeful of progress soon,” he added.
Earlier in the day, police remanded three more people in the case for three days each.

The court of Cox's Bazar Senior Judicial Magistrate Tamanna Farah granted the remand appeal on Wednesday morning. The accused were identified as Ziaur Rahman, Mohammad Salam and Md Elias.
The court has granted three-day remands for five Rohingya youths, so far.
Mohib Ullah, chairman of the Arakan Rohingya Society for Peace and Human Rights (ARSPH), was shot dead at Lambashia camp No 1 in Ukhiya by unidentified assailants last Wednesday night.
Upon receiving the news, APBn members took him to the MSF hospital, where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.
On Thursday night, his brother Habib Ullah filed a murder case with Ukhiya police, accusing unidentified people. After that, an APBn member, who is in charge of the camp, and Ukhia police arrested the five accused separately.
