Palak lauds brainstorming platform for entrepreneurship

State Minister for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Zunaid Ahmed Palak on Wednesday termed Youth Opportunities, a web-based brainstorming platform, a role model of entrepreneurship development. He made the comment while inaugurating the mobile app of the platform at its office in Dhaka's Karwan Bazar where the government allotted a 300-square-foot office at free-of-cost. Palak said, “Youth Opportunities appared as a role model of an IT-based entrepreneurship development when the world is giving importance on web-based resource sharing.” “We can create youth employment sharing our resources from schools, colleges and madrasas. The ICT Division will work with the platform in this regard,” he contiued. Lauding Youth Opportunities as an award-winning initiative founded by two Bangladeshi youths, the junior minister said, “The platform has created opportunities to youths across the world to become entrepreneurs.” Offering the free office space to the platform is meant for attaracting youth entrepreneurs for the country's firrst hi-tech park in Gazipur, he claimed. The idea and opportunity generating platform, which can be visited at  www.youthop.com, is the brainchild of Osama Bin Noor and Makshudul AM Manik. Millions of youth visit the website considering it a most effective platform to find latest opportunities for free, and avail important educational contents for self-development, according to the duo. Underscoring the necessity of timely access to opportunities, Osama said they are working to ensure equal and easy access to different opportunities, and nobody misses them. The website registers more than 1.2 million views per month, said Manik. The ICT Division and Youth Opportunities signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) at the event for assiatance in innovative programmes by the platform.
