NBR gives awards to top VAT payers at the DITF
A prize distribution ceremony rewarding participants of Dhaka International Trade Fair 2018 who paid the highest Value Added Tax (VAT) was held at the National Board of Revenue (NBR) on Monday. NBR chairman Dr Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan presided over the function, with the Economic Affairs Adviser to the Prime Minister Dr Mashiur Rahman also present. At the event, former communications minister Syed Abul Hossain was recognized by the NBR as the payer of the highest amount of taxes under Dhaka City Corporation, with his family being given the title of “Kar Bahadur” for Dhaka district for the year 2017. Meanwhile, NBR awarded a VAT certificate and prizes to the ten highest tax paying businesses participating at the 23th Dhaka International Trade Fair this year. Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith handed over the awards on Monday in the conference room of the National Board of Revenue. The awarded organizations were: Walton Hi-Tech Industries Limited, Rangs Electronics Ltd, Hatil Complex Ltd, CP Bangladesh Co Ltd, RFL Plastics Ltd, Butterfly Marketing Ltd, Durable Plastic Ltd, Akhtar Mattress Industries Ltd, Rangpur Metal Industries Ltd, and Agricultural Marketing Company Ltd. Of these, four of PRAN-RFL’s companies received top VAT payer awards: RFL Plastics Limited, Durable Plastic Limited, Rangpur Metal Industries Limited and Agricultural Marketing Company Limited. Choudhury Atiur Rasul, Director (Accounts) of PRAN-RFL Group received the awards on behalf of the four companies. Atiur Rasul said: “It is a matter of pride that we received four prizes out of ten. PRAN-RFL Group will play a stronger role in the future to move the country’s economy forward.”
