Envoy: Czech Republic ready to invest in Bangladesh

The Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Bangladesh, Milan Hovorka, on Wednesday said his country is ready to invest in many sectors in Bangladesh.

Hovorka, resident in New Delhi, expressed  the Czech Republic’s interest when State Minister for Foreign Affairs, M Shahriar Alam, spoke to him about Bangladesh’s investment-friendly environment and invited the country to invest.

During his meeting with the state minister at the Foreign Ministry, the Ambassador lauded the impressive progress of Bangladesh in economic and other sectors, particularly   attaining the qualifications to graduate to a middle income country status under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

State minister for Foreign Affairs recalled with appreciation the recognition of Bangladesh by what was then Czechoslovakia, soon after our independence.

He also expressed satisfaction with the existing bilateral ties between the two friendly countries, and noted that there was ample scope for more bilateral interaction to utilize the potentials of the two countries, said the Foreign Ministry.

He stressed intensive interaction both at the government and private sector level to explore the full potential in economic, commercial, and technical arenas.

The Czech Ambassador thanked the minister for the warm reception and expressed his happiness with bilateral relations between the two countries and agreed to the need for establishing closer commercial and trade ties between the two friendly countries.

They discussed the progress of the ongoing instruments and expressed their determination to follow up to conclude and operationalize them soon.

Apart from bilateral issues, the Czech Ambassador and Bangladesh State Minister for Foreign Affairs, discussed international issues of common interest and emphasized mutual support.
