The “Truck Lagbe” app is available for download on the Google Playstore
A new app aimed at reducing the hassle for those who wish to hire trucks for the transport of goods was launched on Wednesday by Brilliant Ideas Limited.
The “Truck Lagbe” app is available for download on the Google Playstore.
Once a customer makes a request in the app, it immediately sends notifications to nearby truck drivers.
The price of the trip is determined through a bidding process between interested truck operators, with the lowest bidder getting the order.
In this manner, trucks may be hired within minutes at a competitive market price, according to a press release from the app developer.
Various kinds of trucks may be hired through the app, including mini trucks, small, medium and large open trucks, covered vans, and prime movers, as well as alternative vehicles such as drum trucks and cranes.
The app was launched at an event at the ICT Tower in Agargaon on Wednesday.
Attendees included stakeholders of the Truck Lagbe app, members of the app development team, officials of the iDEA project under the ICT Division, and representatives of the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology.
Truck Lagbe Chief Operating Officer Mir Hossain Ekram and Chief Executive Officer Anayet Rashid addressed the event, among others.
The beta version of the app was launched for truck owners in July 2017 and for shippers in October the same year.

Most of the users are in Dhaka, Chittagong, Gazipur and Narayanganj.
More than 6,300 trips were made within nine months of the launch of the beta version, and app users provided feedback on market needs for the betterment of transport sector in Bangladesh, they added.
