FBCCI election on April 27

The elected directors will elect the president, first vice president and vice president of the country's apex trade body

The biennial election of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FBCCI) will be held on April 27.

FBCCI’s election board disclosed the election schedule on Tuesday, according to a statement of the apex body.

Total posts of FBCCI directors are 72. Of them, 30 directors will be nominated, while 42 others will be elected equally from chambers and associations.

The nominated directors will also be picked equally from major chambers and associations of the country.

The elected directors will elect the president, first vice president and vice president of FBCCI on April 29.

Ahead of the announcement of the schedule, the election board and election appeal boards were formed on January 26.

Prof Md Ali Ashraf is the chairman of the election board, while the election appeal board will be chaired by former FBCCI director Jahangir Alamin.

According to the schedule, the last date for paying the annual subscription fees by general members is February 26.

Nominations for the posts of directors must be submitted by February 27.

The preliminary voter list will be published on March 6 and will go through scrutiny, and then the final list will be published on March 18.

The last date for filing nominations for the post of directors, both elected and nominated, has been set for March 25.
