A heated exchange between members of the press and BSEC officials prompted the move
Journalists yesterday boycotted a press conference arranged by the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC)—the stock market regulatory body of the country.
Outraged by the behaviour of BSEC representatives, stock market beat reporters decided to boycott a press conference on financial literacy organized by the commission at BSEC headquarters in Agargaon, Dhaka.
A heated exchange between members of the press and BSEC officials regarding the tightening of the journalists' entries into the commission's building prompted the unanimous move from the reporters.
The Capital Market Journalists’ Forum (CMJF) condemned and protested the occurrence. Additionally, they urged the commission to investigate the incident.
