The administration should be informed in this case for smooth movement of the officers and employees of the bank branches
Banks will open and continue transactions even if the metropolitan or district administrations issue strict local lockdowns to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection, the Bangladesh bank said on Tuesday.
The central bank notice said that the relevant administration should be informed in this case for smooth movement of the officers and employees of the bank branches.
Chapainawabganj district, which went into a strict seven-day lockdown from 12am Tuesday, saw an infection rate of 55%, which was only 22% just six days ago, according to the civil surgeon’s office.
Announcing the lockdown on Monday, Chapainawabganj Deputy Commissioner Manjurul Hafiz said that no one will be allowed to leave the district during the weeklong lockdown.
The district is currently the only one under such special lockdown in the country.
