‘Taste of America’ exhibit showcases over 100 US food and beverage products in 10 outlets of Shwapno
A promotional campaign to showcase a variety of US food and beverage products on behalf of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) was launched at retail stores of super shop chain Shwapno on Thursday.
Earl R Miller, US ambassador to Bangladesh, Arif Dowla, managing director of ACI Group, and Sabbir Hasan Nasir, executive director of Swapno, launched the “Taste of America” promotion in ten Shwapno retail outlets throughout Bangladesh, said a press release.
The promotion will highlight US products by featuring them on an “American Shelf” strategically placed in various retail outlets in Dhaka and Sylhet.
The goal of the promotion is to provide consumers in Bangladesh greater access to a variety of US food and beverage products, including canola oil, dried fruits, nuts, cereals, chocolates, and much more.

In total, over 100 products from the United States will be featured.
“I am excited to see US products become increasingly available in Bangladesh and am confident consumers will find US food items to be flavourful and of the best quality," said Ambassador Miller, during the launch event at a Shwapno outlet in Gulshan-1.
“Shwapno retail outlets were established in 2008 and since then we have grown to more than 175 outlets. In 2016-2020, Shwapno was recognized as the Best Retail Brand in Bangladesh, which is a great honour for our company," said Arif Dowla, managing director of ACI Group.
"We know US products are high-quality, so we are happy to feature US products in our stores," he added.
