MasterCard on Thursday announced Nikhil Sahni’s appointment as division president of South Asia and country corporate officer of India.
He replaces Porush Singh, who will be relocating to Singapore and occupying a new role within the company, reads a press release.
Sahni is joining MasterCard with 25 years of experience in strategy, investment banking, corporate, commercial, SME, retail, branch, and government banking.
His new role will require him to oversee Mastercard’s operations and position the company’s extensive range of products, solutions and services across the sub-continent, including Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Maldives and Bhutan.
With a degree in electrical engineering, and his most recent role as senior group president of agriculture, government of MNC banking and knowledge banking in Yes Bank, Sahni contains experience worth over 17 years of managing various businesses and products at the regional and national level.
According to Ari Sarker, the co-president of Asia Pacific Mastercard: “Nikhil’s extensive experience in India's financial services sector will be instrumental for us as Mastercard continues to strategically focus on providing the technology, infrastructure and innovation needed to build a vibrant digital payment ecosystem across South Asia.”
The co-leader said he is delighted to have Sahni on board.
