The Finance Ministry has ordered all e-commerce entities to ensure that their products for intra-city orders are delivered to the customers within five days of advance payment.
They will get 10 days for similar deliveries to other cities or rural areas, according to a public announcement issued by the ministry on Friday.
It also warned both sellers and buyers of the fraudulent activities that have come to light recently.

The notice said that the government has already introduced a set of directives to address such activities and the new orders were issued in line with them.
It also asked consumers to shop with caution from digital commerce platforms.
The notice added that legal steps will follow, alongside the shutdown of e-commerce platform websites, if the entities violate the directives.
