TCB begins open market sale for Eid-ul-Azha on Monday

A total of 187 mobile OMS trucks will supply kitchen commodities across the country every day except Friday, according to a TCB press statement

The Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) will launch an open market sale (OMS) across the country on Monday on the occasion of the Eid-ul-Azha.

A total of 187 mobile OMS trucks would supply kitchen commodities every day except Friday. Of them, 35 trucks will be available in Dhaka, 10 in Chittagong, 5 in each of the other divisional cities, and 2 in each district town, according to a press statement issued on Sunday.

The TCB has fixed the price of sugar at Tk52 per kg, soybean oil at Tk85 per litre, lentils at Tk50, and grams at Tk40 per kg, the sources said.  

A consumer will be allowed to bu 4kg each of sugar, lentils and grams and 5 litres of soybean oil at a time.

The commodities will be sold by 2,803 TCB dealers and 10 retail centres as well, the sources said.

The OMS trucks in Dhaka will be located at these locations: Secretary Gate; National Press Club; Kaptan Bazar; Victoria Park; Dilkusha; Dainik Bangla Intersection; Motijheel Bok Chattar; Fakirapool Bazar and Ideal Zone; Bangladesh Bank Square; Jatrabari kitchen market; Shantinagar Bazar area; Malibagh Bazar area; Rampura Bazar area; Banashree Ideal School area; Merul Badda kitchen market; Khilgaon Taltola Bazar; Shahjahanpur Bazar area; Bashabo Bazar; Madartek/Nandipara Krishi Bank area; Khamarbari-Farmgate area; Kalmilota Bazar area; Agargaon Taltola and Election Commission office area; Shyamoli Square; Mirpur-1 Mazar Road; Mirpur-10 Square; Kalshi, near Purobi Cinema; Kachukhet Rajanigandha Super Market area; Asad Gate area in Mohammadpur; Mohammadpur Town Hall; Jhigatola; Science Lab intersection; New Market; Chhapra Mosque in Palashi area; Ashkona Haji Camp; and Rajlakkhi Complex in Uttara.
