The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (Ecnec) on Tuesday approved eight projects, including one for empowering women through ICT towards digital Bangladesh.
A total of of Tk2,723.61cr has been allocated for the completion of the projects.
The approval was given in the Ecnec meeting held at the NEC conference room at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair.
In the meeting, Ecnec approved Tk544.51cr for the second phase of project “Tottho Apa” for empowering women through ICT and Tk796.63cr to convert 150MW Sylhet Gas Turbine Power Plant into 225MW Combined Cycle Power Plant.
Of the total project cost, Tk1,929.97cr will be funded by the government, while Tk793.64cr will be borne by the respective implementing agencies, said Planning Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal.
