The Bangladesh Jewellers' Samity, the association of jewellers in the country, has decided to raise gold prices again, effective from Friday.
The decision was made on Thursday as the prices in the international market have been on the upward trend for a month, says a press statement issued by the association.
According to the new price list, the prices will be raised by Tk816-1,341 per bhori (11.664g).
Each bhori of 22 carat gold will now cost Tk47,122, 21 carat will be priced at Tk45,198, and 18 carat will be sold at Tk39,657 in the local market.
On Thursday, a bhori of 22 carat gold was sold at Tk45,898, 21 carat at Tk43,857 and 18 carat at Tk37,616, as shown by Bangladesh Jewellers' Samity data.
