What kind of homes do people in Chittagong prefer?

Rented apartments costing between Tk10,000 and Tk15,000 per month were found to be the most popular in Chittagong

Bproperty, Bangladesh’s only property solutions provider, has conducted an in-depth trend analysis on the current demand for real estate in Chittagong.

The study indicates that a significant portion of the people of Chittagong prefer small homes, with properties between 1000 and 1500 square feet being the most sought after. Apartments less than 1000 square feet come second, followed by those ranging from 1500 to 2000 square feet.

Further analysis indicates that Bayazid Bostami is the most popular area to live in in Chittagong, followed closely by Khulshi and Double Mooring.

In terms of the number of rooms, most residents of Chittagong prefer three-bedroom homes, found the study.

The analysis found that properties costing between Tk62 lakh and Tk72 lakh were the most sought after, followed by properties costing between Tk42 lakh and Tk52 lakh and those between Tk72 lakh and Tk82 lakh.

Rented apartments costing between Tk10,000 and Tk15,000 per month were found to be the most popular in Chittagong. Those costing between Tk15,000 and Tk 20,000 per month came in at second and those costing less than Tk10,000 per month came in at third in terms of popularity.

The research data was collected via the number of users, listings added and queries made at bproperty.com, both online and offline, over the past 6 months, starting from January 2020 to June 2020.
