The first ever international carnival on tourism and hospitality in Bangladesh was successfully held on the Dhanmondi campus of Daffodil International University (DIU) in Dhaka last week.
Titled "ACE Hospitality Management Institute presents 1st International Education and Cultural Carnival Bangladesh 2017," the two-day event took place on Wednesday and Thursday and was jointly organized by DIU's department of tourism and hospitality management, and event management group the Federation of Hospitality, Tourism and Event Management (FOHTEM).
Around 500 students from 20 different universities attended the carnival, according to a press release issued on Sunday.

The tagline of the carnival was “Let the stage of the Tourism Day and the Tourism Year reflect the victory song of Tourism and Hospitality.”
The hospitality management department of AKS Khan Center for Excellence (ACE) sponsored the carnival.
DIU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Yousuf Mahbubul Islam was present at the opening and closing ceremony of the carnival. He also distributed awards among the students who won prize in different competitions throughout the event.
The Dhaka Tribune, Bangla Tribune, Current View, Colors FM Radio, Swadesh TV, Campus TV, The Reflector Magazine, and Vromon Magazine were media partners of the event.
