Chilling at the Lit Fest

Dhaka Lit Fest is going to be held at the historic premises of Bangla Academy, from November 17 to 19. Those of you who are wondering what to do this weekend, can go to the Dhaka Lit Fest, and have an amazing time.

Food Stalls

While you participate in this celebration of books and reading, you should certainly visit their food stalls. Starting from Thanda Garam and Roll Express, to Pizza Roma and Bread and Beyond, DLF is the perfect place to be, as bookworms can experience literary culture along with some delicious food.

Through this festival, Dhakaites can enjoy exquisite food, along with the richness of our culture. As you enter the Bangla Academy, and take a right, crossing the Bottola and Bardhaman House, you will find yourself at the food zone, just as you turn left.

When flicking through these books makes you hungry, visit the Roll Express stall for their flavoursome rolls, or Pizza Roma for their mouth-watering pizzas. And if you're in the mood for some authentic Cantonese cuisine, Chows would be the best place to go to.

You can visit the Thanda Garam stall, with their array of fresh juices. There can be nothing better than strolling around while you sip on one of their Green Mango juices. You can also try fresh juices at Just Juice, who will be there at the DLF with their fresh salads, along with fruit juices. Or, if you're in need of some caffeine, the KK Tea stall is a must for you to visit.

If you have a sweet tooth and don't want something heavy to eat, you can always check out the stalls offering desserts. North End Coffee Roasters will be there with their amazing coffee and savoury items. And you can't surely miss the Balushai, Chom Chom and Chanar Jilapi at Meena Sweets. The Bread and Beyond will be there to offer various pastries, tarts and coffee as well. Those of you who want some ice-cream can go for the Bellisimo stall.

Book Stalls

The popularity of book stalls at the Dhaka Lit Fest clearly depicts that there is no shortage of readers in Bangladesh.

Those of you who love reading books, should definitely visit the book stalls there. A number of well known publishing houses will be present, with their stalls located behind the Bottola, which you will find when you take a right turn, just after entering the premises. Eleven renowned publishing houses, offering different genres of books, will be there at the DLF.

So if you're tired of sitting through the literary sessions, and want to buy some books for yourself, you may want to explore the different stalls by Pathak Shamabesh, British Council, Shomoy Prokashon, Journeyman Books, Jamil Comics, and Ananya. You can look through the books at the Bookworm, Bangla Tribune, Maya Apa, and BRAC stalls as well, if you're looking for some interesting books, magazines, or journals.

The DLF will also feature a number of book launching events, along with discussion sessions, poetry recitals, and various performances.
