‘Bhoy- The Fear of Silence’ makes it to the 7th Delhi International Film Festival

The story of the film centers on the life of a traumatized individual named Niloy. He is a writer who experiences existential crisis in the wake of social and political enigmas of Bangladesh. The film travels back to the time of the blogger murders and narrates a fiction about the importance of freedom of speech.

Short film “Bhoy- The Fear of Silence” will premiere at the 7th Delhi International Film Festival 2018 in New Delhi, India. This film is directed by young Bangladeshi director Zuairijah Mou. 

“Bhoy- The Fear of Silence” is inspired by Nabarun Bhattacharya’s story “Mritodeho Dorshon”. The film has been funded by the government of Bangladesh and it is a Bangladesh Cinema & Television Institute production.

The film travels back to the time of the blogger murders and narrates a fiction about the importance of freedom of speech.

Director Zuairijah told Showtime: “As Bangladesh is a third world country, some issues are not addressed by the government or by most of the citizens. The free-thinkers are sometimes under the risk of death for their open speech or creativity or writings.”

The 7th Delhi International Film Festival will be held from October 13-18.
