Stepping aside from a very regular life, together we are facing a global health crisis of historic proportions. While the whole world is united to fight the unsighted enemy, Evolution360 is organizing a sensational online competition and a fundraising event -- Talent Transition 2020 -- co-hosted by Canadian University of Bangladesh. With a majority of the country working from home, this talent showcasing event has just been declared as a boon for the quarantine-jailed youth. The collected money from this online event will be donated to the Covid-19 affected people in the community.
The event comprises of five segments: Photography, artwork, article writing, story writing and meme making. Winners of this event have the chance to get a total prize money worth up to Tk8,000. Along with the winner’s title, all the participants will get e-certification. In the adjudication panel, the event has invited renowned personalities like Prito Reza, Elita Karim, Sakib Bin Rashid, Yellow Potato (Youtuber), and others. Students from different schools, colleges, and universities can participate in this event and, at the same time, contribute for a good cause. The registration will continue till June 26, and results will be declared on July 6. The participants will also get the opportunity to attend a number of free webinars as a form of preparation for the segments.
Being established in 2016, this youth organization Evolution360 is replicating the #HeForShe campaign, creating national and international volunteering and skill-development opportunities for youth both locally and internationally. From its inception, they have been working to create a gender equal world with active youth participation through implementation of SDG goals. They firmly believe that evolvement of youth, irrespective of gender, is essential for building up a resilient nation and to make a country progressive. Along with multiple awards from UNV, UN Women, and UNDP, Evolution360 has also received the International Arch of Europe Award in Gold Category as the only youth organization from Bangladesh, at Frankford, Germany, in 2018.
The co-host of the event, Canadian University of Bangladesh -- having an offshore office in Toronto -- inspires aspired knowledge, and is focused on fostering connections and affiliations with universities, research institutions, and employers across the globe, offering credit transfer and student mobility. CUB has its own campus in RL Square, Bir Uttam Rafiqul Islam Ave, Dhaka 1213.
Founder and president of Evolution360, Upoma Ahmad said: “The fund raised from the registration fees will be donated to the poor and needy who are struggling to survive during this ongoing global crisis. In any situation, the active participation of the youth can make a nation, and the world, strong and secure. Evolution360 is working to turn that exact vision into reality.”
For this online event, 42 clubs from schools, colleges and universities from different parts of the country as well as 30 national and international organizations are working as club and strategic partners. The international moderator of Evolution360 and representative of the United Nations, Upasana Chauhan considers this to be an excellent initiative, and conveyed her best regards for the event’s success.
