MP Sabina Akter Tuhin initially lashed back at the critics sometime after midnight claiming that her visit to the hospital was one to foster solidarity and. She additionally claimed that the photo was not a “selfie”.
On Thursday morning, she tried to clear the air with another status update on facebook apologising for her actions.
She apologised for offending anyone and reiterated that her actions were attempts to show that she stood by Khadiza’s side.
She concluded by assuming full responsibility over the social media uproar and denounced the critics.
Around the same time as Tuhin’s first post in her defence, her companion Joint Secretary Kohale Quddus also posted an apology on her social media account.

Her apology was direct and stated that the dispute over the photo was an error in translation. She claimed that they only wanted to update the people about Khadiza’s most recent conditions.
She said that a desire to refute rumours about Khadiza’s death played a huge part in going social with the photo.
The facebook post that caused the furor was deleted as the criticism started flying.
