Belarusian Literary and Artistic Publications has released a book titled, "Young," dedicated to Bangladeshi poetry.

Belarusian poet Maria Kobets translated a poem of legendary Bengali poet Kazi Nazrul Islam titled, "The Rebel," which then was included in the book— said a press release issued by the Belarusian Ministry of Information, on Wednesday, reports UNB.

On the pages of the almanac there is also an article about the work of Kazi Nazrul Islam, entitled, "Songs - crippled birds: Kazi Nazrul Islam, Bangladesh.”

The interlinear translation of the work was prepared by Bangladeshi national Muzahidul Islam Tussar—who lives and works in Belarus.

In August, "Literature and Art," the Belarusian literary and artistic newspaper, published the same poem translated by Mykola Metlitsky, it added.

Belarusian Information Minister Ales Karlyukevich said, "These publications are only the beginning of the development of literary relations between Belarus and Bangladesh."

The minister also discussed how Belarusian literature can be the subject of interest for translators, poets, and prose-writers in Bangladesh, in the near future.

"We believe that in the coming years the books of Belarusian writers – Nobel Prize winner Svetlana Alexievich, our classics Vasil Bykov, Vladimir Korotkevich, Yanka Kupala, Yakub Kolas, Maxim Bogdanovich – will become popular," he added.

Nobel Prize winner Rabindranath Tagore’s famous poem, "My Golden Bengal," which is the national anthem of Bangladesh, was also published in the eighth issue of the magazine.

Three other translations of famous Bengali poems by State Prize winner of the Republic of Belarus Mikola Metlitsky, poet and translator Maria Kobets, and Naum Galperovich were also published in the issue.
