DGHS: 291 dengue patients hospitalized in 24 hours

A total of 1,218 patients are undergoing treatment for the mosquito-borne disease at different hospitals and clinics across the country

A total of 291 fresh dengue cases were reported across the country in the 24 hours till Sunday morning.

Among them, 259 were admitted to different hospitals in Dhaka and 32 outside the capital, a press release from the Health Crisis Management and Control Room of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said.

A total of 1,218 dengue patients are undergoing treatment at different hospitals and clinics across the country, including 1,131 patients undergoing treatment in Dhaka division and 87 hospitalized outside the capital, the release added.

A total of 8,041 patients have been admitted to different hospitals across the country since January this year. Among them, 6,787 patients have returned home after recovery, the DGHS said.

The Institute of Epidemiology Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) confirmed that 36 cases of dengue fever have so far been reported.
