A total of 1,242 dengue patients are undergoing treatment at different hospitals and clinics across the country
Dengue claimed one more life in the last 24 hours between Tuesday and Wednesday, raising the death toll to 53, said a report of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Wednesday.
During this time, 256 patients were hospitalized with dengue caused by the Aedes mosquito, said the report.
Among the new patients, 212 were admitted to government and private hospitals in Dhaka while the remaining 44 cases were reported from outside the division, according to DGHS.
Some 1,242 patients diagnosed with dengue fever are receiving treatment in the country as of Wednesday morning, according to DGHS.

Of them, 1,088 patients are receiving treatment at different hospitals in Dhaka while the remaining 154 were listed outside the capital.
Among the deceased, 49 were in Dhaka city alone, two in Chittagong division, one each in Khulna and Rajshahi.
Some 12,690 patients have been admitted to different hospitals with dengue since January across the country.
So far, 11,395 dengue patients have been released from hospitals after recovery, said the DGHS.
The number of dengue patients hospitalized in a single day recorded the highest with 343 patients on September 7.
Health authorities have been recording over 200 dengue cases per day since August 1.
