The government has arranged required testing and treatment of coronavirus in three selected hospitals in Dhaka for the diplomatic and official passport holders working in diplomatic missions, United Nations agencies and international organizations in Bangladesh.
The hospitals are Sheikh Rasel Gastroliver Institute and Hospital at Mohakhali, Sir Salimullah Medical College and Mitford Hospital, and Regent Hospital limited at Uttara, says a foreign ministry letter sent to all diplomatic missions, UN agencies and international organizations in Bangladesh.
The letter dated April 2 also provided the contact numbers of concerned officials of these hospitals who are to be called if services are required.
Officials bearing diplomatic and official passports can also contact a designated number of the Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR).
Blood sample for Covid-19 test will be collected from the residences of the concerned diplomatic or official passport holder.
In case of testing positive for Covid-19, if the doctors assess that a diplomatic or official passport holder needs hospitalisation, then one of the designated hospitals will be used for treatment.
The officials of the Covid-19 coordination cell at the foreign ministry will remain available for any queries and assistance.
