Borderless Healthcare Group (BHG), a global pioneer in connected health, is set to launch a philanthropic telemedicine initiative for Bangladesh-based doctors and renowned Covid-19 experts in the world to support all the Covid-19 affected Bangladeshi migrant workers in Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, and beyond.

BHG Founder and Chairman Dr Wei Siang Yu made the announcement in an online press conference on Thursday, according to a press release.

Bangla speaking healthcare professionals will reach out and offer counselling to Bangladeshi workers affected by Covid-19 through the website, Borderless.clinic.

Borderless.clinic is the world's first-of-its-kind device-agnostic telemedicine engine supported by a multi-lingual video call centre with more than twenty thousand pages of medically audited content and a global network of renowned medical experts.

Dr Yu said: “Our Bengali speaking volunteers apart from bringing a series of Bengali health education remotely, can also help to arrange family members of the Covid-19 positive to join the co-care telemedicine in the total wellness program.”

The Bengali public education of this initiative will commence as early as May 2020 with subsequent interactive Borderless co-care sessions to be introduced, according to the press release.

According to the official website of the Bangladesh high commission, there are about 150,000 Bangladeshi workers in Singapore remitting hundreds of millions back home annually.

An estimated 10 million Bangladeshis work overseas to pump in more than US$15 billion into the country’s economy where migrant workers' remittance is the second-largest source of foreign currency income after the country's gigantic textile industry.

This total wellness program can ensure the psychological well-being of a Covid-19 positive person in a foreign environment, the statement reads.

The migrant workers are encouraged to sign up at www.borderless.clinic to join the first interactive health education by top Covid-19 experts and local doctors on May 30.
