Nasim tests negative for Covid-19, to be kept under observation for 72 more hours

Awami League Presidium Member and former health minister Mohammad Nasim tested negative for Covid-19 for the second time on Tuesday. As the condition of his health remains unchanged, he will be kept under observation at the Bangladesh Specialized Hospital for 72 more hours.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Bangladesh Specialized Hospital Al Imran Chowdhury delivered the update on Nasim’s health on Tuesday afternoon.

Awami League Office Secretary and Prime Minister’s Special Assistant Barrister Biplab Barua told Dhaka Tribune: “Now that Mohammad Nasim has tested negative for Covid-19, his family is planning to take him abroad for better treatment.”

On condition of anonymity, Awami League sources said it is difficult to airlift the former health minister right now as he is still under observation.

On June 1, Nasim was admitted to Bangladesh Specialized Hospital with Covid-19-like symptoms.
