Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA) President Dr Mostafa Jalal Mohiuddin tested positive for Covid-19.
He was initially admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, said BMA Secretary General Dr Md Ihteshamul Haque Chowdhury.
He gave a sample for testing on Saturday and received the result early on Tuesday.
The BMA secretary general said he was shifted from the DMCH to the Labaid Specialized Hospital, Dhanmondi and is now undergoing treatment under the supervision of Dr APM Sohrabuzzaman.
Mostafa Jalal Mohiuddin has asthma and some other health complications. He is stable now but has fever, he added.
