There are 86,864 active cases of Covid-19 in the country, as of Thursday morning
With 2,733 fresh cases of Covid-19 detected in the last 24 hours, Bangladesh remains on the second spot in Asia to have the maximum number of active cases.
As of Thursday morning, there are as many as 86,864 active Covid-19 positive cases in the country.
Active cases are estimated by removing the tallies of deaths and recoveries from the total number of confirmed cases.
India tops the chart in Asia, with 334,864 active cases, with 974,737 confirmed cases till date, according to Worldometer as of 5:45pm on Thursday.
The total number of confirmed cases in Bangladesh, where the first cases were reported on March 8, now stands at 196,323.

Bangladesh also ranks eighth on the global list of active cases, with the US at the top with over 1.8 million cases.
The US is also the most affected country in the world, having registered 3,618,739 cases since the pandemic broke out there.
With 529,729 active cases out of nearly two million confirmed ones, Brazil is on the second spot on the global list, followed by India.
Bangladesh’s position on both the global list and the Asian list has been steady for the past few days.
As of 5:45pm on Thursday, more than 13.7 million cases have been confirmed around the world since the pandemic broke out in Wuhan, China in December last year. Of them, 4,961,671 cases are currently active.
