No other family member of one of the infants has been infected with Covid-19
For the very first time, two infants, aged six and nine months, have been admitted to Khulna Corona Dedicated Hospital.
The hospital's nodal officer Dr Suhas Ranjan Haldar, said Amir Hamza, six-month-old, from Kalyanshree village under Batiaghata upazila of Khulna, was admitted to the hospital around 4:45 pm on Saturday.
No one else in Amir’s family has been infected with Covid-19. His family members are unable to say how he got infected.
Meanwhile, Sumon Bala, nine-month-old, from Hogalbunia village of the same upazila, was also admitted to the hospital on that very day, said Dr Haldar.
Sumon's mother, Sujata Bala, 27, is currently undergoing Covid-19 treatment at the hospital. She said earlier, doctor advised her to treat the child at home.
