He also called on doctors to work in remote parts of the country

Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Maleque on Sunday said there is no vaccine crisis in the country as 5,400,000 doses have already arrived this month and another 15,000,000 doses are due by end of the month.

The health minister made the remark while addressing the orientation program for the newly recruited junior consultants (Anaesthesiologists) at Dhaka's Osmani Memorial Auditorium as the chief guest on Sunday afternoon.

He said the appointing of 409 anaesthesiologists to the 6th grade at once was a massive step during the Covid-19 pandemic.

“The health sector is grateful to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for appointing such a large number of doctors in such a short period of time,” he said.

The minister called upon the newly appointed doctors to shake off their fears and work in remote areas of the country. Promising to take care of necessary facilities for the newly recruited doctors, he requested that they work in service of the masses.

Officials of the ministry, members of Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA), doctors and some other political leaders were present at the event.
