A weakened Cyclone Fani crossed Bangladesh on Saturday, without causing any major damage. Nevertheless, 17 people were killed in ten districts of the country on Saturday and on Friday, as a number of houses collapsed and trees were felled by gusts in the lead up to and during the cyclone. The casualties occurred in Barguna, Satkhira, Noakhali, Bhola, Lakshmipur, Patuakhali, Bagerhat, Kishoreganj, Netrokona and Brahmanbaria districts.
