Minister: Manpower export to UAE after 3 months

Expatriates Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Nurul Islam has said manpower export to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) under 19 categories will start after three months. A joint working commission will be formed to fix the process of sending workers, and other bilateral issues, the minister said while briefing reporters at “Prabshi Kalyan Bhaban” in Eskaton on Monday. He said a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed in this regard between the Ministry of Human Resources & Emiratisation of UAE and Expatriates Welfare and Overseas Employment Ministry of Bangladesh, on April 18. Expatriate Welfare Secretary Nomita Haldar, under-secretary of Human Resources and Emiratisation Ministry Saif Ahmed Al Suwaidi inked the deal in Dubai. Nasser bin Thani Juma Al Hamli and UAE minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation Saif Ahmed Al Suwaidi were present during signing of the MoU. Under the MoU, labourer, sailors, watchmen, shepherds, falconers, housekeepers, cooks, nannies, farmers, gardeners, private trainers, private tutors, farm supervisors and private drivers will be recruited. The minister said at present the number of Bangladeshi people in 165 countries is 11.7 million and the total remittance inflow was $13,526 million last year. Besides, the government is working to create labour markets in Japan and Dubai. The process of sending manpower from Bangladesh to Japan is underway.
